The Electric Network Rehabilitation Program is supported by multilateral agencies through funding agreements and technical assistance. This support sets a historical precedent in Dominican Republic, being the first time so many institutions join efforts to cooperate in the country for a same cause, proof that our industry is firmly advancing to its improvement and sustainability.
This initiative has the support of the Inter-American Development Bank, The OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), the World Bank, and the European Investment Bank.
Inter-American Development Bank | US $88 millions |
OPEC Fund for International Development | US $60 millions |
World Bank | US $120 millions |
European Investment Bank | US $100 millions |
Total: | US $358 millions |
International agencies are permanently linked once the funding agreements are formally settled, supporting us throughout project planning and prepping, offering technical assistance, monitoring and evaluating throughout the execution of the Program. These type of agreements represent and opportunity for growth for Dominican Republic, due to the soft conditions of these loans and the support and formation local professionals receive while involved in these projects.
